Differences Between First Generation and Fourth Generation Computers

Basis
First Generation Computers
Forth Generation Computers
Size
First Generation Computers are too bulky in size.
Fourth Generation Computers are smallest in size because of the high component density.
Reliability
First Generation Computers are unreliable.
Fourth generation computers are very reliable than that of  First Generation computers.
Heat Generation
First Generation Computers generate large amount of heat and burnt out frequently.
In Forth Generation computers, heat generation is negligible.
Requirement of air conditioning
Air conditioning is required for the First Generation Computers.
No need of air conditioning for the Forth Generation Computers.
Maintenance
Constant maintenance was required for the First Generation computers.
Hardware failure was negligible in Forth Generation Computer and hence minimal maintenance was required.
Portability
First Generation Computers are not portable due to very large in size.
Forth Generation Computers are portable because of their small size.
Commercial Production
Commercial production was difficult and costly.
Commercial production was easier and cheaper than previous generations.
